Waist training results: Before/After, 2012 to early 2015 (NSFW)

TRIGGER WARNING: May contain mentions of suicide and depression.

Now that I finally caught up with the last of my custom commissions and starting my RTW line in February, I decided it’s about time we have an update!

Let’s kick things off with waist training result photos, you can see them here on Lucy’s Corsetry blog.

Notice that the photos are about a couple years old. Well, let’s just say 2014 wasn’t the greatest year for me.

I had made the mistake of taking on too many commissions, all of which were bespoke (drafted from scratch, which is time consuming) and extremely low priced (my friend Amber of Lovely Rats gave me a good earful on why and how to price accordingly, thank heavens).

Then Marco Polo came around, I had forgotten my meds (for Bipolar Disorder) so I just bought Epilim, which was on my prescription and available in drugstores. I lacked my Seroquel still.

For some reason I went from around 58kg (sedentary lifestyle being a depressed shut-in) to 61kg, the heaviest I had ever been. I believe the irregular meals and constant snacking might have partially contributed to the weight gain. We were shooting for hours on end so we tend to miss the catering tent (which were only open for a few hours) and were constantly being fed by the PAs.

During my schooling days when I was tan and active in competitive tennis, I weighed 55kg. When I was a personal trainer, I weight anything around 48kg to 50kg.

On the 11th of December 2014, I attempted suicide and suffered memory loss, probably from stumbling about and hitting my head the day after the attempt while “high” on sleeping pills, according to my mum at least. I was then hospitalized on the 13th.

I would say that maybe, just maybe, that was a blessing in disguise. The doctor who treated me during my time there apparently was surprised at how long I had been on Epilim and has since prescribed Lithium Carbonate in place of it.

The only downside I can think of is the slight nausea (which is not often) and the fact I need constant blood tests due to its poisonous side effects.

Since the change of medication, I have dropped back down to 58kg and I no longer feel drowsy at night.

I promised photos, so here they are.

Day 7 & Day 8: GODDAMNIT I’M BUSY

Sorry for the lack of updates.

I’ve been trying to complete my client’s corset before I leave for my trip to Singapore because from the 13th onwards, I am going to be ridiculously busy.

13th -15th I’ll be modelling in Singapore.
17th – 24th I’ll be in Kuala Lumpur for a convention.
28th is the grandfather’s 100th birthday dinner and my cousin’s baby’s Minnie Mouse themed birthday party.
1st of January will be my 22nd birthday party and my parents want to spend some quality time with me at our favourite Italian gourmet restaurant.

I revived the blog thinking I would have time to update this daily.

But in reality, that’s too time-consuming for me.

I won’t be abandoning the blog but instead of daily updates, I’ll be making this every other day or weekly (when I am away).

I do have some progress pictures on my PC. I managed to get extremely tiny squished waists, which makes me happy ๐Ÿ™‚

I can manage a squished waist of 25″ and even 24″ with just a measuring tape!

Day 6: How uneventful

Not much anecdotes to share for today really.

After all I woke up at 3pm (like a champ, not!) while corseted in my Josephine overnight, which means definitely way past 12 hours of waist training.

I had my “breakfast” (which was leftover cake from last night, hey, don’t judge me, my sis read that it’s okay to have something sweet to start off the day to curb cravings later on) and then helped my dad flavour (and kind of “fix”) a stew he had cooked up. I think he attempted to wake me up at around 1pm but I must have fallen back to sleep.

Fun fact: My family uses my palate to flavour things they cook up, apparently I know how to make things taste better. ๐Ÿ˜›

I had my Josephine on for most of whatever was left of the day and took it off later in the evening.

Most of my day consisted of getting my client’s corset done.

Curves! Hipspring! I am a happy camper XD

Notice I didn’t put up a picture of myself in the Josephine. I feel that there’s going to be little progress in the images since I have it closed or nearly closed most of the time now.

I’ve put this on from 11pm to 12am with a wider gap since I didn’t want it to turn crooked.

I’m going to being changing into the Josephine again right after this.

That’s all for Day 6!

Day 5: Crepe Cake & Peri-Peri Chicken

It’s my dad’s 60th birthday and I decided not to be a total party pooper to wear a corset to a scrumptious dinner.

But nevertheless I did train earlier in the day!

As usual, I wake up in my Josephine, go out and have breakfast it in. Though I made the grave mistake of wearing it with an underwire bra so now my sternum is aching…

Later when I am home, an hour in the C&S pipestem.

The lacing gap enrages me lol

The lacing gap enrages me.

And something else for a change!

This corset was bespoke and fitted with a mock-up. It fits to my asymmetry thus the straight gap in the back.

I decided to use my Sparklewren to waist train a little as it is an extreme hourglass. In the past, using this for training is a little tough as it obviously can’t be hidden under clothing due to the spiky embellishment. But now that I work from home, this is no longer an issue!

I’m hoping to invest in a few moreย  corsets in the coming months, hopefully I could stabilize my finances (I’ve applied for a writing job online) in time to do so.

Otherwise I may end up making my own from leftover materials from working with clients.

Which isn’t a bad thing.

Anyhow, I leave you with a picture I took of my parents:

(Belated) Day 4: I’m so tired! But accomplished?

I spent of yesterday (Day 4) corseted in my Josephine with a 1.5″-2″ gap as I spent most of the morning/noon sewing 25% of a client’s corset.

This was right before bed on the night of Day 3.

I forgot to eat my lunch and my work productivity started to cease. For a moment, I thought I was just caught up with the blog but the fact that I did not upload this post in a timely manner says otherwise.

My ribs get a little sore after very long periods of corseting (but not painful, more like workout tiredness, which doesn’t hurt you) so what I’ll do in between changing these corsets is rub and massage my torso, back and ribs with my knuckles.

I did another tight measure at my waistline before putting on my next corset.

25.5" squished waist! YAY!

Then came the time to season the C&S pipestem in the evening. Normally an hour in the pipestem feels best for me, loosening it over time.

The lacing gap looks decent this time around.

The lacing gap looks decent this time around. Still not perfect though. Please ignore the goofy face.

After the hour was up, I switched over to my green taffeta cincher by Fiorella Corsetry.

As I mentioned earlier, my ribs were a bit sore so I didn't lace up as tight as usual. Thus, the \ / gap.

And to finish things off, I went to sleep in the Josephine again, almost completely shut.

Seriously, this is one of the few off-the-racks that fit me so well! I hope to get myself some more standard sized pieces from Isabella Corsetry!
